Superjet International Sells its First 30 Aircraft

(July 21, 2010) -- Superjet International, the Russian-Italian joint venture in which Alenia Aeronautica holds a 51% share, has scored an important first commercial success with an order for 30 aircraft from the new US leasing company Pearl Aircraft Corporation.

Pearl will receive its first aircraft in mid-2011 and is in advanced stage of negotiation with a number of Western airlines. The order is valued at over 900 million dollars at list prices and also includes 15 options.

This is an important success which crowns two years of hard work during which Superjet built up its marketing and technical organization, conducting significant sales campaigns at a very difficult time for the world economy. "We did a great job and I believe that other deals could follow this one. I am very confident", said CEO Alessandro Franzoni during the press conference at the Farnborough air show.
