P&W Awarded $74 M for F100 Engine Maintenance
(Farnborough, July 19, 2010) -- The United States Air Force awarded Pratt & Whitney a contract and options, with a value up to $74 million, to provide scheduled maintenance for U.S. Air Force F100 engines powering F-15 and F-16 fighter aircraft. Pratt & Whitney F100 engines power more than half of the combined U. S. Air Force F-15 and F-16 fleets. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.Under this contract, Pratt & Whitney will provide F100 core module overhaul maintenance for U.S. Air Force operated F100-PW-229 engines. The overhaul work will take place at Pratt & Whitney's San Antonio, Texas, facility.
