DRS and Boeing to Sign Teaming Agreement for NewGen Tanker

(Parsippany, N.J., June 7, 2010) -- DRS announced today that it will sign a teaming agreement for the NewGen Tanker program with The Boeing Company.

DRS will collaborate with Boeing on the console design and then manufacture the Aerial Refueling Operator Station, also known as AROS contingent upon Boeing receiving the contract from the United States Air Force. In addition, DRS will provide the interconnect design and associated cable sets to integrate AROS into the Tanker.


The teaming agreement will be signed during a DRS employee rally at its Johnstown, Pennsylvania facility on Monday, June 7th between 11:00am and 12:00pm Eastern time.

Alan Dietrich, President of DRS' C3 and Aviation Group and Mark DeVoss, Boeing's Director of Supplier Management Tanker Programs will sign the agreement in front of 700 DRS employees along with local, regional and federal elected officials. They will be gathered to demonstrate their support of the program and encourage the United States Air Force to select the Boeing NewGen Tanker.

The Boeing NewGen Tanker is a wide-body, multi-mission aircraft capable of fulfilling the Air Force's needs for transport of fuel, cargo, passengers and patients. The Air Force is expected to award a contract later this year.

DRS will draw upon the experience it has gained producing and integrating global transport tanker aircraft Remote Aerial Refueling Operator Consoles, cables and harnesses for The Boeing Company since 2006.
