LOT Polish Airlines to Operate the Embraer 195 Jet
- Airline Converts Four Embraer 175 Firm Orders to the Embraer 195
"LOT's selection of the EMBRAER 195 is testimony of the airline's confidence in our E-Jets family," said Paulo Cesar de Souza e Silva, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. "Sharing more than an 86 percent commonality with the EMBRAER 170 and EMBRAER 175, the EMBRAER 195 will continue meeting LOT's stringent requirements for cost efficiency and high levels of comfort and functionality."
LOT Polish Airlines was the first operator of the E-Jets family in Europe, flying out of its Warsaw hub with the EMBRAER 170, in March 2004. The EMBRAER 195, the largest of the four-member E-Jets family, will complement the airline's existing fleet of ten EMBRAER 170s (four leased) and ten EMBRAER 175s (two leased), expanding its European route network and replacing its narrowbody aircraft. The jets will be configured in a comfortable dual-class cabin layout with 112 seats.
"The E-Jets family is a pivotal element in our business plan to rationalize fleet development and to support our network expansion from the Warsaw hub," said Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines. "The EMBRAER 195, with the right seat capacity, will be used on our European network, enabling us to benefit from the E-Jets commonality to improve profits."
