Alion Wins $15M Navy Contract to Validate Logistics Data and Test Logistics Concepts

• Technology Solutions Company to Help Naval Operational Logistics Support Center (NOLSC) Analyze Systems to Lower Costs and Reduce Shipboard Manpower

(McLean, VA., April 5, 2010) -- Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions company, has won a $15 million contract to support the Naval Operational Logistics Support Center (NOLSC) as the center integrates and modernizes its logistics support systems that support deployable units in the Navy and Coast Guard.

Under the three-year logistics management services contract, Alion will assist NOLSC with logistics planning, modeling and simulation, concept generation and development, and manning, personnel and training analysis. Alion also will conduct the front end assessment for the Littoral Combat Ship, which will serve as the basis for all manning, personnel and training decisions affecting end strengths and budgets.

The logistics support systems deployed by NOLSC provide data feeds to modeling and simulation software products for distribution optimization programs and ship loading. These systems are vital to the Navy's efforts to efficiently integrate the Navy's logistics support into a joint environment.
