10 injured as Nigerian Air Force plane overshoots runaway
LAGOS, March 13, 2010 (AFP) - Ten people were injured when a Nigerian Air Force plane overshot the runway at Port Harcourt airport, a senior official said Saturday."The plane with 47 passengers and five crew was carrying out an emergency response exercise flight from Abuja when it skidded off the runaway and rammed into the bush yesterday (Friday)," the official of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria told AFP.

He said 10 passengers were injured and the fuselage of the plane was badly damaged.
Airport rescue team evacuated the passengers and took the injured to hospital, while the airport was closed down for several hours because of the incident, he added.
Port Harcourt is Nigeria's oil hub where oil firms and oil workers have offices and residences.
