- Aircraft Will Remain at Alenia's Capodichino Facility for Training
The first three C-27/G.222 aircraft have been deployed to Afghanistan and are flying with the Combined Air Power Transition Force (CAPTF) in Kabul, Afghanistan.
This fourth aircraft will remain in Capodichino and is currently being used for training.
As part of the program, training for the C-27/G.222 aircrew and maintenance for the U.S. Air Force Advisors is being carried out by Alenia at Capodichino. The training courses for pilots, loadmasters, crew chiefs, and maintenance personnel last between 15 and 40 days, depending on the duties. The training includes classroom academics, practical training, and flight training. Once trained, the U.S. Air Force Air Advisors will provide similar training in Afghanistan to the ANAAC.
