Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization Awards MMP to P&W

(Singapore, February 2, 2010) -- The Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization (NDLO) has signed an agreement with Pratt & Whitney for a Materials Management Program (MMP) to support the Royal Norwegian Air Force's F100-PW-220E engine fleet powering their F-16 aircraft. This marks the first Pratt & Whitney MMP agreement with Norway, and it is structured to support Norway's F-16 fleet readiness objectives for the next four years. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

"We are excited about the opportunity to expand our 30-year relationship with the NDLO and the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF)," said Ed O'Donnell, Pratt & Whitney Director of International Programs and Business Development. "Under this MMP, Pratt & Whitney will provide a comprehensive logistics service program across all levels of RNoAF engine maintenance, including forecasting and delivery of spare parts, as well as part repair management. Our goal is to help Norway achieve the highest levels of serviceable and ready engines in the most affordable manner."

P&W offers military customers tailored management service solutions for operating their fleets with the optimum mix of organic capability, world class expertise, and economies of scale. P&W maintenance management products range from basic order fulfillment to complete fleet management.

Pratt & Whitney has 14 international and domestic contracts for fleet maintenance and is in active discussions with six more for additional aftermarket business.

"Readiness is what we deliver," O'Donnell said. "Pratt & Whitney Military Engines provides not only dependable engines, but the most flexible maintenance, repair and overhaul services, ensuring customer readiness worldwide from delivery through retirement."
