GD Awarded Consolidated Product-line Management Contract from US Army
- Contract enables efficient delivery of training solutions throughout the Army
The five-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract has a maximum value of $200 million if all options are exercised. General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), received two initial task orders valued at $23 million.
Manny Mora, vice president and general manager for Battle Management Systems, for General Dynamics C4 Systems, commented, "Team CPM represents a strategic partnership between the Army and industry to deliver relevant, cost-effective live training solutions to warfighters everywhere."
Benefits of the CPM contract include reducing fielding time, minimizing acquisition costs, lowering total ownership costs and promoting the reuse of software and hardware components for training systems. The contract also provides a framework for the management and delivery of products and support to homestation and combat training centers worldwide.
