BAE Receives Navy Information and Operating Systems Integration Contract

  • Contract is Worth Up to $233 Million
(North Charleston, South Carolina, November 19, 2009) -- BAE Systems has received a U.S. Navy contract worth up to $233 million to provide information and operating systems integration and related services at land-based facilities and on various platforms such as ships, submarines, and ground vehicles. The company will support the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) with engineering services, production engineering, integration, testing, inspection, and installation of various C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) systems.

"This contract significantly expands our role supporting SPAWAR and the warfighter," said Richard Anderson, vice president and general manager of integrated technical solutions for BAE Systems. "It also continues our long history of performance in the Charleston area."

The contract includes an initial one-year award, four option years, plus three award-term years. If all of the options are exercised, the cumulative value could reach more than $233 million. Subcontractors will include Lockheed Martin and a number of small businesses.
