Army Selects L-3 for Kuwait Training Contract
(New York, November 17, 2009) -- L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL) announced today that its MPRI division has been awarded a $162.7 million cost plus fixed fee follow-on contract to support the U.S. Army Central Command's Kuwait Observer-Controller Team program. Under this award, MPRI will be a subcontractor to Raytheon to provide training for U.S. and Coalition forces at the Udari Range in Kuwait. The initial contract period is for seven months, effective September 2009, and includes two option years that would extend it to April 2012."This program will enhance the skills and preparedness of our soldiers and contribute to their operational success," said Jim Jackson, senior vice president and general manager of MPRI's International Group. "We are honored to continue to support the U.S. Army's training needs in Kuwait."
