1st Brazilian AF Precision Approach Radar System Completes SAT

(Clifton, N.J., October 28, 2009) -- ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) announced today that the Brazil PAR-2000 modernization team successfully completed Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). This is the first of four radar systems to be upgraded for the Brazilian Air Force.

The four days of site acceptance testing included logistic and quality inspections, system online and offline checks, and flight certification. Grupo Especial de Inspecao em Voo (GEIV), the Brazilian special flight inspection group, performed the flight certification.

The Brazilian Air force uses ITT's Precision Approach Radars (PARs) to ensure safe landings of aircraft in all conditions, especially where visibility is impaired; including night and severe weather landings. ITT's PAR-2000 radar system successfully tracked and landed the GEIV's test aircraft under severe weather conditions during the SAT.

"ITT's ability to deliver further capabilities on these systems supports the strong working relationship with the Brazilian Ministry of Defense," said ITT Electronic Systems President Chris Bernhardt. "The ongoing success of our PAR-2000 testing reinforces the longevity and durability of the systems."
