Luciad technology for Situational Awareness in C4ISR at BELCOAST09

Data fusion, visualization and analysis support for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)

Held from 5 to 15 October at the Koksijde air base on the Belgian coast, BELCOAST09 offers companies and R&D institutes a platform to present their technological solutions for improved protection of military installations against terrorist attacks to NATO's and Nations' operational, armaments and procurement community.

The BELCOAST09 Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) demonstration event is part of the 10th Initiative of the NATO DAT (Defence against Terrorism) Program of Work. The objective of this Initiative is the improved protection of fixed, critical infrastructure on the territory of the Alliance. In a first step, work is undertaken to improve the protection of military installations in expeditionary operations against terrorist attacks through the use of NATO nations' technological solutions.

During the Visitors' Days on the 14th and 15th of October, Luciad will present LuciadMap V9, the latest release of its software suite designed to build highly accurate situational awareness applications for network-centric C4ISR systems used with the latest Command Room displays, interactive tactical 'touch' panels, and on wrist computers and other mobile devices.

Visitors will have a chance to discover exciting new technologies to integrate and fuse real-time sensor data, radar feeds, operational charts and satellite images into one coherent (2D or 3D) operational picture 'on-the-fly', enabling commanders to make instant decisions and provide fast support to operators in the field.
