A Unique Solution to prevent Friendly Fire accidents

(September 14, Tel Aviv) -- A new and unique product for the prevention of Friendly Fire accidents during combat has been developed by TAR Ideal Concept in light of the accidents in the Second Lebanon war and in the recent Gaza fights. The TL5 is a component relying on Infra-red technology that is positioned on the soldiers' helmet, weapon or gear and enables precise identification of the person by other forces in the combat area. The new development will be presented for the first time at the Israel Defense 2009 Exhibition this coming October in Tel Aviv.

During the Second Lebanon war and the recent fight in Gaza many friendly fire accidents occurred in the IDF, a problem that sent the chief commanders looking for an immediate and effective solution. The TL5 makes it possible to recognize friendly forces using night vision equipment, the Infra red technology is not detectible to the bare eye, and can be observed from a 360 degrees without "dead spots"- from both land, marine and aerial forces up to 4000 meters away. The product was developed in a unique cooperation between IDF combat officers and the TAR engineers with the aim of achieving the high standards of modern combat. The device is very light- 100 grams including the battery and is compatible for land conditions, water and moist resistant and shock absorbing. The shade of the light representing the soldier can be adjusted to the needs of the client and can even be combined of two different shades.
