(San Francisco, September 2, 2009) -- URS Corporation (NYSE:URS) today announced that the Company is one of four firms that has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Navy for construction projects at Department of Defense (DoD) installations worldwide. The contract has a maximum potential value to all four awardees of approximately $900 million over a five-year period.
Under the terms of the contract, URS can compete for, or be assigned, task orders to provide a variety of services, including new construction, repair, demolition and renovation projects at DoD facilities, including power, medical and waterfront facilities at DoD installations. In addition, URS may provide construction services for energy and water conservation projects.
Commenting on the contract award, Gary V. Jandegian, President of the URS Division, said: "We are pleased by this award, which will enable us to continue supporting the Department of Defense on long-term DoD initiatives like Military Transformation. URS has a strong track record of assisting all branches of the U.S. military, and we look forward to building on our experience through this program, which will improve the facilities used by U.S. troops around the world."
