L-3 Coleman Aerospace Successfully Launches Another Air-Launched Rocket
(Orlando, Fla., August 27, 2009) -- L-3 Coleman Aerospace recently launched a successful Long Range Air-Launch Target (LRALT) rocket as part of Sounding Rockets Program 2 (SRP-2), which is managed by the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Space Development and Test Wing (SDTW) for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in support of the Arrow System Improvement Program. The LRALT missile was carried by a USAF C-17 aircraft that was staged out of the Army Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona and released over the broad ocean area of the Pacific. The LRALT vehicle was designed, manufactured and tested at L-3 Coleman Aerospace's facility in Orlando, FL Preliminary analysis of flight data indicates that all mission objectives were met. The LRALT has previously completed two successful launch missions in May 2004 and September 2005."In these tough economic times, Coleman continues to grow and improve its products.
