Selex SI: signed contract with Civil Aviation Authority in Qatar
(July 16, 2009) -- SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica Company, has signed a contract, worth 2,6 million Euro, with the Civil Aviation Authority of Qatar for the supply of the A-SMGCS (Advanced Surface Movement Guidance & Control System) system to the security and efficiency ground based movements of Doha airport, the capital of Qatar.The system will be completed within 6 months from the contract signature. The contract signed by the Finmeccanica company is the first abroad agreement that provides the sale of the A-SMGCS system to an important international airport.

This success is additional to other two previous contracts subscribed during last year in Qatar, of the total value of about 130 million dollars. Those contracts were in regard to the planning and supply of air and airport traffic control systems, with related activities of logistic support, for the New Doha International Airport (NDIA).
Already present in Qatar since early Eighties with the delivery of two radars and a control centre for the current Doha Airport, with today's signature SELEX Sistemi Integrati confirms its technological leadership in the ATC/ATM domain and its presence in the Gulf countries.
