L-3 WESCAM Expands Customer Support Capabilities into Australia and Asia-PacificFARNBOROUGH, England, July 14, 2008 --[ASDWire]-- L-3 WESCAM, a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications, announced that it has partnered with Cobham Aviation Services Australia, a leader in aviation component maintenance, to create a WESCAM Service Center at its facility. Located in Cairns, this new WESCAM service center is accessible to civil and defense customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Through this partnership, Cobham Aviation Services Australia has become the authorized service center for WESCAM's MX(r)-Series of electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) imaging turrets. The new center is equipped to support and maintain this highly specialized series and will benefit WESCAM's customers in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Brunei, India, Pakistan, Singapore and Korea. These customers will have direct access to WESCAM's ISO 9001:2000 accredited services through Cobham local maintenance facilities, as well as engineering services, qualified technicians and on-site service. The center's quick repair-response will further decrease service turnaround time.
