Amsterdam-Schiphol, 10 August 2008 --[ASDWire]-- FSC has acquired the four-bay simulator training center from Higher Power Aviation in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas, USA. The training center was originally built by Schreiner Aviation Training back in 1998 and was acquired by CAE in 2001 as part of the acquisition of Schreiner Aviation Training. In 2006 the center was sold to Higher Power Aviation who will maintain their training operation in the training center.
The training center has four simulator bays and is expandable to house eighteen full flight simulators. FSC starts its operation with a B737-200 and a B737-300 full-flight simulator to serve existing and new customers.
With the acquisition of the simulator training center, FSC has established a firm base in North America to support its Eclipse 500 training operation and to expand in commercial and business aviation training markets.
"For many years our management team has been active in the United States and we are happy to be back. It enables us exploring the opportunities in the market and serving our existing and new customers" said Capt. Bob van Balen, managing director of FSC.
Last April, FSC announced its plans for building a new simulator training center at Berlin's new airport Berlin Brandenburg International. The training center is planned to have the first simulators operational in 2009.
FSC is an independent operator of full flight simulators and is providing flight crew training, pilot provisioning as well as simulator leasing services and consultancy to commercial airlines and simulator operators. From its simulator training centers at Amsterdam-Schiphol and Dallas/Ft Worth, FSC serves many commercial airlines with its concept of high quality, cost effectiveness and customer focus.
