Dutch Thermoplastic Components (DTC BV) installs high capacity ultrasonic NDI equipment

Lelystad, September 24th, 2007 --[ASDWire]-- DTC, a custom molder of advanced thermoplastic composites, based in the Netherlands, installed and qualified an advanced ultrasonic C-scan installation, dedicated for thermoplastic composites.

Using this equipment, thermoplastic composite structural aircraft parts will be inspected. The high inspection speed of the NDI equipment allows for 100% inspection in-line with the high production rates, typical for thermoplastic composites production.



About DTC
DTC is an AS9100 qualified custom molder of thermoplastic composites for aircraft structural and interior parts. Thermoplastic composite materials that are commonly used are continuous carbon and/or glass reinforced thermoplastics such as PPS, PEI and PEKK.
Thermoplastic composites enable affordable manufacturing of high performance structure parts.

At present, DTC parts such as brackets, clips and intercostals are installed in primary load carrying structures of both Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
