As a leading partner for tanks and structures, MT Aerospace relies on a longstanding development and manufacturing know-how.

With the support of the Bavarian Alliance for Research, Innovation and Technology, "BayernFIT", MT Aerospace is currently developing new technologies for the manufacturing of cryogenic propellant tanks for launch systems. Ultra light-weight aluminium alloy tanks transport propellants, such as liquid oxygene or liquid hydrogene under high-stress conditions. Longstanding development experience and manufacturing know-how are the key competences of MT Aerospace whose tank products are used today on the ARIANE 5 launch vehicle and in other space applications worldwide.

During his visit to the MT Aerospace plant this Wednesday, Bavarian Trade and Commerce Minister Martin Zeil was able to see composite tanks and manufacturing technologies such as friction stir welding in person.

"The close collaboration in R&D with top clusters in Bavaria represents the ideal basis for MT Aerospace when it comes to developing new products and ensure our growth over the long term. That is why we are participating in the new Augsburg Technology Campus initiative. We are very grateful for the support given by the State of Bavaria for this project which is so important to our future," says Hans J. Steininger, Board Chairman of MT Aerospace AG.
