Bombardier Expands Airborne Parts Delivery Service into Europe
-- PartsExpress Europe offers access to multiple aircraft for parts deliveries-- European Mobile Response Team provides enhanced AOG Support
(Geneva, Switzerland, May 11, 2009) -- Bombardier Aerospace today stepped up its drive to provide faster, more efficient resolution of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations with the introduction of its PartsExpress airborne parts delivery service and a new Mobile Response Team (MRT) for its Learjet, Challenger and Global business aircraft operators in Europe. PartsExpress leverages a broad network of aircraft operators in Europe to transport aircraft parts to resolve extreme AOG situations quickly and minimize unscheduled downtime.
The service has the ability to access more than a single aircraft at a time, therefore customers can be reassured that their shipment will not be delayed because of limited aircraft availability. The PartsExpress service was first launched for U.S. operators in 2007 and has performed nearly 250 flights to date.
The PartsExpress service will be complemented by a new MRT, comprised of six EASAlicensed technical and maintenance experts operating under Bombardier Belfast maintenance approval, available round-the-clock to perform AOG maintenance on Bombardier Global and Challenger jets. Support for Learjet aircraft will commence near the end of 2009 via an MRT team to be launched for Learjet 60 aircraft, with support for other models following shortly thereafter.
"The launch of PartsExpress and MRT in Europe marks another important building block in Bombardier's drive to provide its customers with superior service and on-site support," said Andy Nureddin, vice-president, customer services and support, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "With its unique ability to dispatch parts to resolve more than one situation at a time, this service raises the bar for AOG resolution beyond any other currently offered in Europe."
