ITT's AIDEWS Successfully Completes Design Verification Test

(Clifton, N.J., April 1, 2009) -- ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) announced today that its Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS), an integrated radar warning and jamming countermeasure system also known as ALQ-211(V)4, has successfully completed a detailed 11-week Design Verification Test (DVT) with the U.S. Air Force. This accomplishment will allow AIDEWS to enter the planned Electronic Warfare flight test program. The DVT, which consists of more than 15,000 test points, was conducted by engineers from the 542nd Electronic Warfare Sustainment Group, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia and the 68th EWS, Eglin AFB, Florida.

"This successful critical milestone test demonstrates the persistence and dedication of the ITT AIDEWS team and the Robins and Eglin Air Force Base engineers," said Chris Bernhardt, president of ITT's Electronic Systems business. "As a result, our international partners can be confident that AIDEWS systems will effectively protect their F-16s and pilots against today's modern threats."

Developed and produced by ITT's Electronic Systems, AIDEWS is an integrated radar warning and jamming countermeasure system providing fighter pilots with superior situation awareness and protection against radar-based threats, including modern surface-to-air and air-to-air weapon systems. AIDEWS is currently in full production with more than 150 systems under contract for five nations as part of ITT's F-16 Foreign Military Sales program. To date, 82 systems have been delivered.

AIDEWS is built upon the proven ALQ-211 family of electronic warfare systems now being used to support numerous U.S. and allied defense customers.
