"Honeywell will design, develop and integrate the advanced avionics for the Constellation Space Suit System as part of the Oceaneering team," said Dave Douglass, Vice President, Honeywell Space. "The suit incorporates the latest in Honeywell technology, including a see-through Near To Eye display powered by a projector the size of a quarter. This displays data to the astronaut without diverting attention from the surrounding environment. And the suit will have Honeywell's Organic Light Emitting Diode cuff display, specifically designed for operation in space."

Combined with Honeywell's real-time data processing, the space suit technologies will ensure that critical information such as consumables data, procedural and navigational information - as well as space suit performance - is available to the astronaut.

The new space suit system represents the first new suit design and development since the 1970s.
