The Directorate leads the discovery, development and integration of sensor and countermeasure technologies for the warfighter. The new technologies developed and assessed by SAIC will help the Air Force protect military aircraft from surface-to-air and air-to-air missile threats. Under the contract, SAIC will help make operation and performance improvements to facilities, including their instrumentation, control and data processing equipment. SAIC will also perform analysis and vulnerability assessments of missile, sensor and spacecraft systems within the Dynamic Infrared Missile Evaluation (DIME) Facility.

"Since 1993, SAIC has assisted the AFRL with innovative infrared countermeasure technologies and we look forward to continuing this long-term working relationship," said John Fratamico, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "We are proud to be part of a program that helps protect the warfighter."
