(October 27, 2008) -- Saab have received a spare parts order worth 10,5 million Euro for the French air force's Giraffe AMB radars.
The order contains both depot and deployment spares as well as other support equipment. Deliveries will occur between 6-15 months from now. The coming deliveries also imply that the existing support agreement will enter into full force.
Six customers, including Sweden, France, Estonia and United Kingdom, have bought the latest land based generation introduced in 2001. More than 400 Giraffes have been sold to more than 20 countries since 1978.
The Giraffe AMB is a ground-based multi-mission surveillance system, used for example for simultaneous air defence, air and sea surveillance and Military Air Traffic Control.
