Herley Receives $1.3 M from LM for the Multi-Mission Helicopter

(Lancaster, Pa., September 29, 2008) -- Herley Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: HRLY) announced today that its Herley New England division in Woburn, Massachusetts, has a contract totaling approximately $1.3 million from Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, Owego, NY, for the manufacture of complex switch filter assemblies for the MH-60R helicopter in an electronic support measures ("ESM") system.

The MH-60R Multi-Mission Helicopter (MMH) is the U.S. Navy's new primary maritime-dominance helicopter, replacing the SH-60B and SH-60F aircraft. The MH-60R is designed primarily for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. Secondary missions include search and rescue, vertical replenishment, naval surface fire support, logistics support, personnel transport, medical evacuation and communications and data relay.

Lockheed Martin, the prime air weapons systems integrator for the MH-60R, announced a multi-year contract last year under which it will integrate advanced electronic systems into 139 multi-mission helicopters through 2013.

Herley Chairman and CEO, Myron Levy, commented, "We are very pleased that Herley New England continues to support Lockheed Martin on this important long-term program. This award is a follow on to awards received on this program last year."
