Force Protection Awarded $43.7 M for Service and Support

(Ladson, SC., May 27, 2008) -- Force Protection, Inc. (NASDAQ:FRPT - News) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Force Protection Industries, Inc. has received two contract modification orders for the service and support of its Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles from the Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia. Work under the two orders, which together total $43.7 million, is expected to be completed by October of 2009. These orders bring the total service and support orders received during 2008 to approximately $180 million.

Michael Moody, Chief Executive Officer of Force Protection, commented, "We are very pleased to have received these new orders, which we believe demonstrate confidence in our ability to provide sustainability to the MRAP Cougar fleets. Additionally, these contract modifications give us additional visibility into fiscal 2009.
