DRS Receives a $15 M Order from the U.S. Army to Repair M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter Trailers

(Parsippany, N.J., December 19, 2007) -- DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) announced today that it received a $15 million order from the U.S. Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan to repair M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) trailers. The order is part of a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity reset contract with TACOM.

A reset contract involves the repairing and retrofitting of a battle-worn or damaged product to a like-new condition (as good as a newly manufactured product with zero miles with zero hours of wear and tear).

The M1000 HET trailer is designed and manufactured by the DRS Sustainment Systems business unit's facility in West Plains, Missouri. The delivery of repaired HET trailers is scheduled to start in April 2008 with completion expected in November 2008.

"DRS-built M1000 trailers have proven to be exceptionally reliable and durable during operations in Southwest Asia; one of the harshest environments in the world for military equipment," said Thomas G. Cornwell, president of DRS' Sustainment Systems business segment. "The M1000 is an indispensable workhorse for in-theater logistics. This reset program brings these trailers back to like-new condition and DRS continues its legacy of providing critical battlefield sustainment support."
