Bental Industries Introduces the RSA-06, 13 Nm Actuator: The Next Generation of the Advanced Aviation Actuators Family

The family of Rotary Servo Actuators (RSAs) is specifically designed to meet the needs of Mini to Medium Range UAVs

(Israel, December 6, 2007) -- Bental Industries Ltd., Israel's Motion Systems House for defense and commercial applications, has introduced a new addition to its family of Rotary Servo Actuators (RSAs). The RSA-06 delivers torque of up to 13 Nm at a stroke of +/-45. The high performance RSA actuator series, used for flap control and other UAV applications, features an extremely low power-to-weight/size ratio and is specifically designed to meet the needs of tactical mini-UAVs, as well as CR, SR and MR vehicles.

Bental's RSA line is based on permanent magnet brushless servomotors, reduction gear, a feedback sensor on output shaft, electronic servo controls and amplifiers. Packed in a low-weight and compact aluminum case, the units are designed to meet aviation and MIL standards.

The actuators are part of Bental Industries' extensive line of products for UAVs, as well as satellites and heavy land vehicles. The actuator line was developed in response to the needs expressed by UAV manufacturers for further miniaturization of elements, in order to reduce weight and space requirements as well as ensure operator safety.

The Bental actuator RSA family consists of the following products:
- RAS-06: the newest addition delivering up to 13 Nm
- RAS-03L: up to 11 Nm
- RAS-03: up to 5.5 Nm

The EMI/RFI protected products feature low weight, high torque, and compact dimensions, and comply with relevant environmental regulations. The entire family complies with MIL-STD-461E, 704D, and 810E standards. Options include mechanical interface, digital position command and electrical interface that can be modified to meet specific customer requirements.
