U.S. Army Awards DRS Multiple Contracts Totaling $26 M to Provide Test Equipment and Diagnostic Program Support
(Parsippany, N.J., Nov 1, 2007) -- DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) announced today that it was awarded multiple contracts since July 2007 totaling $26 million from the U.S. Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command in Rock Island, Illinois, to produce test equipment and provide diagnostic program support for the Army's office of Program Manager for Heavy Brigade Combat Team in Warren, Michigan.The work for these contracts is expected to begin immediately with completion expected by May 2008, and will be performed by the company's DRS Test & Energy Management unit in Huntsville, Alabama.
DRS will be responsible for manufacturing the hardware and software of Direct Support Electrical System Test Sets, and providing system technical support, technical updates and program management for the combat team's Chassis Modernization/Embedded Diagnostic program.
