Elbit Systems Will Showcase an Array of Advanced Systems and Solutions at Upcoming LAAD Exhibition

(April 17, 2007) -- Elbit Systems' leading-edge systems and solutions will be on view at the upcoming LAAD exhibition, which will take place from April 17th to 20th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The wide range of systems which will be displayed in the Elbit Systems' stand, as well as at the exhibition of its Brazilian subsidiary Aeroeletronica (AEL), will demonstrate Elbit Systems Group's multidisciplinary expertise and technological leadership in every field in which it operates.

Following are brief descriptions of the systems scheduled to appear:

SKYLARK(r) I Mini-UAV - A hand-launched, man-packed system for tactical close-range "beyond- the- hill" surveillance and reconnaissance, perimeter security, convoy escort, force protection missions as well as artillery fire adjustment. Skylark(r) I was selected by the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Ground Forces after being the sole system among participants in the IMOD's fly-off program to successfully pass a series of stringent tests. It has already been procured by numerous military and homeland security forces worldwide and has performed thousands of operational sorties. Skylark(r) I has been upgraded from tip to tail while maintaining its aerodynamic configuration. Its advanced secured digital communication channels assure interference-free, secured communication. Several additional data link channels are now operable while spectrum requirements have been substantially reduced. Flight controls have been enhanced resulting in energy optimization. The payload and airframe have been ruggedized and gyro-stabilized to stand up to harsh weather and rough terrain conditions; the new platform is adaptable to a broad range of different payloads.

Electro-optics Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd., Elbit Systems offers leading-edge technologies and capabilities for a full range of electro-optical sensors and systems used in space, air, and land and sea deployment. Main areas of activity include thermal imaging, laser rangefinders and designators, displays, ground integrated sights, ISR: space IMINT systems, airborne IMINT systems, observation and surveillance (stabilized payloads), EO countermeasures and homeland defense systems.

CORAL Hand-held 3-5 um FPA Thermal Imaging Camera - A high resolution hand held dual FOV personal thermal imaging camera with integral GPS receiver. It is lightweight, easy to operate and provides excellent picture quality. The system's applications include infantry, scout and perimeter defense missions.

Day/Night ANVIS/HUD-24 - a world leading head-out flight solution with 24-hour operational capability from a single integrated system. The system combines the standard night vision goggles (NVG) image with aircraft flight information. Using the day HUD add-on module, the same flight information is displayed for day use as well. The ANVIS/HUD-24 system can be installed on any type of helicopter, bused or un-bused and can interface and support various aircraft systems. Already operational on over 4500 helicopters and 25 different platforms, the system enables independent dual cockpit, HOCAS driven operation.

Video presentations at the exhibition will feature:

Dominator(tm) Integrated Infantry Combat System - Empowers infantry units with full situational awareness, networking them into integrated information systems. Land warriors can send and receive information in real time, view up-to-the-minute common operational pictures (enemy and own forces) on personal displays as well as live video from either external, or on-body sensors, and transmit images and positions back to the command post and colleagues. Dominator(tm) incorporates Elbit Systems' C4I software solution for infantry use developed specifically to assure simple, swift operation in intense combat scenarios. The system supports planning, situational awareness, targets handling, video and map displays.

Digital Army Program (DAP) - Elbit Systems' DAP is the master program for computerizing all land forces operations. The automated, integrated solution is designed as a force multiplier combining all C4ISR activities of dispersed land forces. DAP is based on Elbit Systems' proprietary hardware and software C4I technologies and benefits from the company's extensive experience in multidisciplinary integration of computerized command and control systems. DAP covers a huge scope of activities; from high-level integration of all land C4I applications and systems, through cutting-edge hardware and communication technology, to massive assimilation and training plans.

Multi-Platform & Mission, Patented Virtual Cockpit-with Electro-Optical and EW/ELINT Capabilities - A unique, interactive virtual cockpit that allows visitors to experience dynamic flight experiences and missions in various fixed and rotary-wing platforms. A full-screen, interactive panorama will feature high fidelity, out-of-the-window,stunning views and special effects replicating how the avionics systems perform in fully realistic views. The patented Multi-Platform & Mission Virtual Cockpit will bring exhibition visitors a close-to-reality flight experience with detailed accuracy in all aspects. The presentation has been further enhanced by the addition of the Groups' capabilities in electro-optics and EW/ELINT.

Elbit Systems will display the following solutions at the AEL booth:

Training & Simulation Solutions - Elbit Systems has over three decades of experience in training and simulation solutions having designed, developed, delivered and deployed operational and tactical, virtual and embedded trainers and simulators to the world's most sophisticated forces. Among the various trainers & simulators offered are full mission simulators for fixed wing aircraft such as the F-16 as well as helicopters such as the Mi-8 and Mi-24.

STAR -Laser Guidance Kit - Installed on 68/70 mm rockets to convert them into a metric precision guided weapons. STAR can be used for air-to-ground or ground-to-ground missions, against soft or lightly armored stationary or fast-moving targets. STAR provides users with an optimal solution for today's dynamic battlefield. It can be launched from a variety of platforms, providing high kill probability and very low collateral damage at an affordable cost.

Laser-Guided Bomb Adapter (LIZARD) - A laser seeker adaptation to normal "dumb" bombs for improved hit accuracy against moving targets and strong winds, featuring improved jamming rejection.

Land Systems:

UT 30 Overhead Remote Control Weapon System - Installed on a 6x6 - Armored Fighting Vehicle. UT-30 is a dual-axis stabilized system for 25 mm cannons. This system is capable of transforming every armored personnel carrier into an armored fighting vehicle - with no vehicle deck penetration whatsoever. Among its outstanding design features are a very low silhouette, light weight and a fold-down position no higher than 50 cm.

In addition, Elbit Systems will present solutions for infantry fighting vehicles (tanks, armored vehicles and APCs) , including fire control systems, unmanned turrets, weapon stations, command and surveillance vehicles and C4I solutions.
