ST Engineering's Electronics Arm Secures MINDEF Electro-Optics Maintenance Contract

(Singapore, March 26, 2007) -- Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that its electronics arm, Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics), has been awarded a five-year contract of about $20m by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) to provide maintenance of electro-optics equipment and systems used by the Singapore Army, Navy and Air Force. The contract was awarded to ST Electronics' subsidiary, STELOP Pte Ltd.

The award of this contract is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
