ST Engineering Renames Its Land Systems Subsidiary

(Singapore, 11 January 2007) -- Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that its land systems company, Chartered Pyrotechnic Industries Private Limited (CPI), a subsidiary of Advanced Material Engineering Pte. Ltd. (AME), has been renamed Advanced Pyrotechnic Materials Private Limited (APM). AME is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd (ST Kinetics), the land systems arm of ST Engineering.

APM, a joint venture company between AME and Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH (RWM), specialises in the manufacture and sale of pyrotechnic products. AME holds a 51% stake in APM, while RWM holds the remaining 49% stake. The new name better reflects APM's capabilities and focus on advanced pyrotechnic solutions to serve the needs of its customers.

APM is a joint venture company between AME and Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH. Over the last 25 years, it has grown from a production house for military pyrotechnics to s provider of law enforcement and training needs, as well as commercial pyrotechnic products for safety applications. Today, it is a leading supplier and manufacturer of a wide range of pyrotechnic products, locally and in the region.

AME is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ST Kinetics. It designs and manufactures conventional and smart munitions, advanced protective materials as well as guided system components. It also provides consultancy, customised training, design and engineering services for homeland security solutions for the defence, government and commercial sectors.

ST Kinetics is the land systems and specialty vehicles arm of ST Engineering. It delivers integrated land systems, specialty vehicles and their related lifecycle support for defence, homeland security and commercial applications.
